SnapClips are innovative weight collars designed to secure free weights onto barbells, inspired by the 1990s slap bracelets. They offer a quick, durable, and user-friendly alternative to traditional weight collars, ensuring a safer and more efficient workout experience.
In January 2018, during Season 9 of “Shark Tank,” 19-year-old entrepreneur Martin Dimitrov pitched SnapClips to the Sharks. He sought $150,000 in exchange for 15% equity in his company. Impressed by the product’s potential, Mark Cuban, Lori Greiner, and guest Shark Alex Rodriguez collectively offered $150,000 for a 30% stake, with the condition that Dimitrov remain in school. Dimitrov accepted this deal.
Following the “Shark Tank” appearance, SnapClips experienced significant growth. By the end of 2018, the product was being sold in 30 countries, had its own storefront, and was working on a private label version with CrossFit. As of April 2024, SnapClips had achieved over $6 million in lifetime sales and expanded its product line to include more than 30 varieties.
